The group company namely M/s Axis Energy Ventures India Pvt. Ltd. has taken up wind resource assessment studies to identify windy sites and to correlate the existing data to NIWE. The studies were under taken in Rayalaseema Districts of Andhra Pradesh covering Anantapur, Kadapa & Kurnool Districts.
The Group Company, Installed 96+ wind and solar monitoring stations for Resource Assessments. Also proposed to install more than 100 number of wind and solar monitoring staions of 150 meters height for further studies. The raw wind details is being collected online and evaluated for last 5 years. The striking rate of the sites identified is close to 90%. The wind farmable potential is identified based on the wind data collected and it is observed that annual average wind speed is in the range of 6.5 m/sec-6.8 m/sec at 80 mt level.
Considering the wind data generated from the wind monitoring stations, it is estimated that a minimum of 8000 MW potential can be harnessed in the areas of studies carried out by the company.
