The Sun

The Sun is the source of all life forms on earth. It is the eternal source of the everlasting energy for all life/food cycles of living creatures which are interdependent. The planet earth which is a minuscule of the solar system spins in its own axis and rotates around the sun in a fixed orbit on an imaginary axis which is slightly tilted and causes the occurrence of seasons and atmospheric changes which leads to temperature gradients which turn depends on the absorption of the sunlight by the surface of the earth.

Photovoltaics (PV) covers the conversion of light into electricity using semiconducting materials that exhibit the photovoltaic effect, a phenomenon studied in physics, photochemistry, and electrochemistry. A typical photovoltaic system employs solar panels, each comprising a number of solar cells, which generate electrical power. The first step is the photoelectric effect followed by an electrochemical process where crystallized atoms, ionized in a series, generate an electric current. PV installations may be ground-mounted, rooftop mounted or wall mounted. They may be mounted in a permanent orientation to maximize production and value or they may be

mounted on trackers that follow the sun across the sky. Solar PV generates no pollution. The direct conversion of sunlight to electricity occurs without any moving parts. Photovoltaic systems have been used for fifty years in specialized applications, standalone and grid-connected PV systems have been in use for more than twenty years.

axis energy and its solar mission

axis energy as an Independent Power Producer is equally committed to promote Solar Power also. This commitment is also inbuilt within the overall capacity creation of 2500 MW committed to the Andhra Pradesh state Government. The identification of potential solar sites is also completed and it is also the wish of the group to transform the wind power projects in to Hybrid power projects wherein both the natural resources are optimally used by using the infrastructure effectively.

The Group Company has installed Pyrano meters in the wind monitoring stations at Pottipadu and Borampalli. These stations are specifically for solar radiance potentials in Vajrakarur and Kalyandurgam belts, the data collected online is represented in the graphical form indicating the solar power density in Watts/ Sq.m on monthly basis for the year 2014 and 2015.
