Paris COP 21 Agreement - India’s role & Axis Commitment @ REINVEST 2015
• As part of the commitment to the Paris agreement, India plans to reduce its carbon emission intensity - emission per unit of GDP by 33-35% from 2005 levels over 15 years. It aims at producing 40% of its installed electricity capacity by 2030 from non-fossil fuels.
• India will have to shift significantly away from coal-based power into renewable energy sources resulting in the installation of 175 gigawatts of clean power by 2022.
(100 gigawatt from solar, 60 gigawatt from wind, 10 gigawatt from biomass and 5 gigawatt from small hydropower)
• At REINVEST 2015, Axis Energy Group made its Green Energy Commitment to the Honourable Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi for the development of 12500 MW of renewable energy in India by FY - 2022. In line with above objective, Axis Energy Group has already signed an agreement with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to develop 4000 MW Wind Power and 2500 MW Solar Power in Andhra Pradesh state by FY - 2022.
